قيتار ḳītār G. s. m. A guitar. (Gr. kiqa/ra).

قاضي ḳāẓī A (part. act. of قضا) s. m. A judge, a justice.

قدم ḳadam A (Heb. and Ch. To go before) s. m. 1. A pace, a step, a footstep. 2. The foot, the sole of the foot. 3. The going before, merit. قدم باز ḳadam-bāz, Fleet. قدم بقدم ḳadam-ba-ḳadam, Step by step, gently, by de- grees. قدم بوس ḳadam-bos, 1. adj. Kissing the feet, shewing respect, paying respects. 2. s. or قد مبوسي ḳadam-bos-ī, s. f. Kissing the feet, obeisance, respects. قدم چومنا ḳadam chūmnā, 1. To kiss the feet. 2. To leave the company of another, to bid adieu. قدم چهـوني ḳadam chhūne, To touch or embrace oneʼs feet. قدم رنجه فرمانا ḳadam ranja farmānā or قدم رنجه کرنا ḳadam ranja karnā, To take the trouble of going or coming (spoken respectfully). قدم لگنا ḳadam lagnā, 1. قدح ḳadaḥ A s. m. 1. A goblet, glass, bowl, cup. 2. A satire or lampoon.

قشقه ḳashḳa A s. m. A mark made by the Hin- dūs on the forehead with sandal, &c.: see ؟يکا ṭīkā. قشقه دينا ḳashḳa denā, To put the ḳashḳa on the forehead.

قحبه ḳaḥba A (from قحب To cough) 1. s. m. A cough. 2. An old woman (subject to coughing). 3. (the usual acceptation in Hindī) s. f. A whore, a prostitute (accustomed to notify her profession by coughing: Gol.). 4. adj. f. Unchaste.

قاصر ḳāṣir A (part. act. of قصر) adj. Defective, unable, impotent, deficient, failing. قاصر البيان ḳāṣiru-l-bayān, Whose meaning is defective, in- explicable. قاصر اللسان ḳāṣiru-l-lisān, Deficient in tongue or language.
