فن fann A s. m. 1. Science. 2. Skill, sagacity, stratagem, art, artifice. (Plur. فنون). فن فريب fann-fareb, or (dakh.) فن فتور fann-fitūr, s. m. Art and cunning. فن فر يبي fann-fareb-ī, adj. Artful, cunning.

فتنه fitna A (from فتن To try to tempt) s. m. 1. Calamity, mischief. 2. Sedition, mutiny. 3. Perfidy. 4. Sin, evil, pest. 5. Temptation, seduction. فتنه انگيز fitna-angez, A fomenter of disturbances, an incendiary, a mischiefmaker, seditious, turbulent, insurgent, &c. فتنه انگيزي fitna-angez-ī, s. f. Causing disturbances, sedi- tiousness, mischievousness, &c. فتنه جو fitna- jo, Quarrelsome, seditious. فتنه ساز fitna-sāz, Mischiefmaking, mischiefmaker. فتنه سازي fitna-sāz-ī, s. f. The occasioning of disturbance or trouble. فتنه گر fitna-gar, A seditious per- son, a mischiefmaker.

فاسد fāsid A m. (part. act. of فسد) adj. Vi- cious, perverse, depraved, corrupt, noxious, pernicious, bad. اخلاق فاسده aḵẖlāḳ-i-fāsida, Vicious or bad disposition or manners.

فشار fishār P s. m. Squeezing, pressing with the hand, compressing.

فضيحت faẓīḥat A (from فضح) s. f. Disgrace, ig- nominy, infamy. فضيحت کرنا faẓīḥat karnā, To disgrace, to defame. فضيحت هونا faẓīḥat honā, To be disgraced, to become infamous.

فروش farosh P part. act. (of فروختن or فروشيدن) in compos. Selling, seller; as, حلوافروش ḥalwā- farosh, A seller of sweetmeats, &c. ميفروش mai-farosh, A seller of wine.

فارسي fārs-ī P 1. s. f. Persian language. 2. adj. Persian. فارسي والا fārsī-wālā, A Persian scholar.

فرّاٿا farrāṭā S (see پهـرانا pharrānā, from r. स्फुर Start, throb) s. m. The sound of any thing rushing or fluttering in the air, a rush, a puff.
