فتيٰ fatạ̄ A s. m. A young man.

فرض farẓ A s. m. f. Divine command, a duty the omission of which is considered as a mortal sin, an obligation. فرض کرنا farẓ karnā, To consider as a positive indispensable duty, to consider as certain or unquestionable, to grant, admit, assume. فرض هونا farẓ honā, To be in- cumbent, to behoove.

فرو faro P adv. Down, below, under. فروهونا faro honā, To subside.

فرومايه faro-māya P (comp. of فرو Below, under, and مايه Stock, capital, fund) adj. Worthless, poor, ignoble, abject, low, sordid, mean.

فزون fazūn P part. Increasing, many, much: see افزون afzūn.

فرّاٿا farrāṭā S (see پهـرانا pharrānā, from r. स्फुर Start, throb) s. m. The sound of any thing rushing or fluttering in the air, a rush, a puff.

فرزي farzī P s. f. The queen at chess. فرزين بند farzīn-band, s. m. A term used at chess.

فراشي farrāsh-ī A. s. f. Spreading carpets, &c. the business of a farrāsh. فراشي سلام farrāsh-ī- salām, A bow or obeisance made down to the carpet.

فرسخ farsaḵẖ P. s. m. A parasang (or mea- sure of about 18,000 feet), a league.

فرود farod P s. m. Descending, alighting, stop- ping; adv. Down, beneath. فرودانا farod ānā, To descend, to come down.
