فتح fatḥ A (Heb. To open) s. f. 1. An aperture, opening. 2. Victory, conquest. فتح پيچ faṭh-pech, A mode of tying the turband. فتح مند fatḥ-mand, adj. Victorious, conqueror, triumphant. فتح مندي fatḥ-mand-ī, s. f. Vic- tory, victoriousness. فتح نامه fatḥ-nāma, s. m. Despatches announcing victory. فتح نشان fatḥ- nishān, A victorious standard (opened only in battle). فتح نصيب fatḥ-naṣīb, adj. Victorious, of victorious fortune. فتح ياب fatḥ-yāb, adj. Victorious. فتح کرنا fatḥ karnā, To conquer. فتح هونا fatḥ honā, To be conquered.

فراق firāḳ A (from فرق Heb. To break, to separate) s. m. Separation, absence, departing, distance, distinction. فراق زده firāḳ-zada, adj. Absent, separated. A. P. فراقي firāḳ-ī, adj. Of separation, (one) se- parated (from friends or the beloved).

فرّاٿا farrāṭā S (see پهـرانا pharrānā, from r. स्फुर Start, throb) s. m. The sound of any thing rushing or fluttering in the air, a rush, a puff.
