قيل fīl P. (from Pers. پيل Farh. Jah. Sans. पीलु Perhaps, from فال To swell, to be fat: Gol.) s. m. An elephant. (Plur. Pers. فيلان Arab. افيال). فيلبان fīl-bān, s. m. An elephant driver (or feeder). فيلخانه fīl-ḵẖāna, s. m. Elephant- house. فيلد ندان fīl-dandān, s. m. Ivory. فيل مرغ fīl-murg̠ẖ, s. m. A turkey. فيل نشين fīl- nishīn, One who rides on an elephant.

فيروزه fīroza P. (Pers. پيروزه Sans. पेरोज) s. m. A turkois.

فقره fiḳra A (from فقر To break, especially the vertebræ) s. m. A line, a sentence. فقره بندي fiḳra-bandī, s. f. Arrangement, eloquence.

Victorious. فتح کرنا fatḥ karnā, To conquer. فتح هونا fatḥ honā, To be conquered.

فصيحي faṣīḥ-ī A. s. f. Eloquence.
