غباره g̠ẖubāra P. s. m. A bomb, a shell or mortar for throwing shells.

غرش g̠ẖurrish P or g̠ẖarsh, s. Anger, indigna- tion, rage.

غافل g̠ẖāfil A (part. act. of غفل) adj. Negligent, neglectful, inattentive, remiss, indolent, sense- less, imprudent, careless, thoughtless. (Pers. plur. غافلان). A.P. غافلي g̠ẖāfil-ī, s. f. Negligence, carelesness.

غريب g̠ẖarīb A (from غربت) 1. s. m. and f. A foreigner, a stranger. 2. adj. Poor, humble, mild, meek, strange, foreign, wonderful. (Pers. plur. غريبان The poor, &c.). غريب الوطن g̠ẖarību-l-wat̤an, In a foreign land, stranger. غريب پرور g̠ẖarīb-parwar, Cherisher of the poor. غريب پروري g̠ẖarīb-parwar-ī, s. f. Che- rishing of the poor. غريب مار g̠ẖarīb-mār, s. f. Oppression of the poor. غريب نواز g̠ẖarīb-na- wāz, adj. Courteous to strangers, kind to the poor, hospitable. غريب نوازي g̠ẖarīb-nawāz-ī, s. f. Hospitality, courtesy or attention to stran- gers, kindness to the poor. A. P. غريبانه g̠ẖarīb-āna (comp. of غريب and Pers. affix آنه) 1. adj. Fit for the poor, humble. 2. adv. Like a stranger or poor person.

غوطه g̠ẖot̤a A. (from Pers. غوته) s. m. 1. Dipping, diving, immersion. 2. A dip, a dive, a plunge. غوطه باز g̠ẖot̤a-bāz, A diver. غوطه خور g̠ẖot̤a- ḵẖor, A diver, any thing that dips, or is dipped.

غدار g̠ẖaddār A adj. (superl. of غدر) Fraudulent, sly, treacherous, perfidious.

غارت g̠ẖārat A s. (when compounded with a verb, this latter may be mas. or fem. agreeable to the gender of the object of the action) Rapine, plunder, devastation. غارت غول g̠ẖārat-g̠ẖol, 1. s. m. Sudden loss or destruction. 2. adj. Suddenly or unexpectedly lost. غارت کرنا g̠ẖā- rat karnā, To plunder, ravage, spoil. غارتگر g̠ẖārat-gar, A plunderer, an oppressor.

غروب g̠ẖurūb A s. m. 1. Setting (of the sun, &c.). 2. The west. غروب هونا g̠ẖurūb honā, To set (the sun or moon, &c.).

غفر g̠ẖafr A (from غفر To cover, to forgive) s. m. Pardon, remission of sins. غفران پناه g̠ẖufrān-panāh, Asylum of pardon.

غله g̠ẖalla A (from غلّ) s. m. 1. The produce of the earth. 2. Grain, corn. غله دان g̠ẖalla- dān, s. m. A granary. غله فروش g̠ẖalla-farosh, A grain merchant.
