غنچه g̠ẖuncha P s. m. A bud, rose-bud. غنچه دهن g̠ẖuncha-dahan, With a mouth like a rose- bud, a mistress.

غره g̠ẖurra A s. m. 1. Whiteness, brightness. 2. A white spot on the forehead of a horse. 3. Morning or its splendour. 4. The first day of the moon, calends, the first and best of any thing, the forehead, front. 5. A fast, fasting.

غاور g̠ẖāwir A (part. act. of غور) adj. 1. Powerful. 2. Considerate.

غازي g̠ẖāzī A (part. act. of غزا or غزو To purpose, to intend, to undertake a military expedition. Heb. To be strong or brave) s. m. A conqueror, a hero, one who fights against infidels. (Pers. plur. غازيان). غازي مرد g̠ẖāzī-mard, A hero; (met.) a horse. غازي ميان g̠ẖāzī-miyāṅ, was nephew of Sult̤ān Maḥmūd G̱ẖaznawī; a festival is held in commemoration of him at the beginning of May. A.P. غازيانه g̠ẖāziyāna, adv. Bravely.

غفران g̠ẖufrān A (from غفر To cover, to forgive) s. m. Pardon, remission of sins. غفران پناه g̠ẖufrān-panāh, Asylum of pardon.

غرق g̠ẖarḳ A 1. s. m. Drowning, immersion, sinking. 2. adj. Drowned, immersed, sunk. غرق هونا g̠ẖarḳ honā, To be immersed, to be absorbed (in meditation, &c.), to drown. A. P. غرقاب g̠ẖarḳ-āb, Deep water, a whirlpool.

غپاغپ g̠ẖapāg̠ẖap H. Vox congressus in coitu.

غوث g̠ẖaus̤ A s. m. A title of Muhammadan saints, whose ardour of devotion, according to vulgar tradition, is such, that in the act of wor- ship their head and limbs fall asunder.

غربت g̠ẖurbat A s. f. 1. Travelling, emigration,

غدير g̠ẖadīr A 1. adj. Deceitful, not to be trusted to. 2. s. f. A lake or pool (left by a torrent and liable to fail).
