عنابي uﻌnnāb-ī A adj. Of the colour of the jujub, red like the jujub.

علام aﻌllām A adj. superl. (of علم) Most knowing, omniscient. علام الغيوب aﻌllāmu-l-g̠ẖuyūb, Knowing all mysteries (an epithet of God).

عقلا uﻌḳalā A adj. plur. (of عاقل) Wise, prudent. ¶ aﻌḳlaṉ, adv. Reasonably. A.P. عقلمند aﻌḳl-mand, adj. Wise, intelligent. A.P. عقلمندي aﻌḳl-mand-ī, s. f. Intelligence. A.S̱. عقلونتا aﻌḳl-wantā, adj. (dakh.) Wise.

عشق iﻌshḳ A s. m. Love. عشقباز iﻌshḳ-bāz, A gallant, amorous. عشقبازي iﻌshḳ-bāz-ī, s. f. Gal- lantry, amour, amorousness. عشق پيچا iﻌshḳ- pechā, s. m. The name of a flower (Ipomœa quamoclit) American jasmine. عشق پيشه iﻌshḳ- pesha, Love-practiser, lover. عشق هي iﻌshḳ hai, an exclamation of praise; excellent! well done! praise to! Mīr says:-- عشق انکي عقل کو هي جو ما سواهماري ناچيز جانتي هين نابود جانتي هين iﻌshḳ unkī aﻌḳl ko hai, jo mā siwā hamāre nāchīz jānte haiṅ, nābūd jānte haiṅ, Excellent is their understanding who esteem every thing besides me worthless and null.

عراق iﻌrāḳ A n. prop. A territory which is divided into two portions; عراق عرب iﻌrāḳ-i-aﻌrab, The ancient Babylonia or Chaldea; and عراق عجم iﻌrāḳ-i-aﻌjam, comprehending Media. عراقان or عراقين The two cities of Basra and Kūfa.

عصار aﻌṣṣār A (adj. superl. of عصر) s. m. An oil- maker, or presser.

عارضي āﻌriẓ-ī A adj. Accidental, adventitious, ca- sual.

علما uﻌlamā A s. plur. (of عالم āﻌlim) The learned.

عجوبه uﻌjūba A (from عجب) adj. Wonderful; (subst.) A wonderful thing.
