عشق iﻌshḳ A s. m. Love. عشقباز iﻌshḳ-bāz, A gallant, amorous. عشقبازي iﻌshḳ-bāz-ī, s. f. Gal- lantry, amour, amorousness. عشق پيچا iﻌshḳ- pechā, s. m. The name of a flower (Ipomœa quamoclit) American jasmine. عشق پيشه iﻌshḳ- pesha, Love-practiser, lover. عشق هي iﻌshḳ hai, an exclamation of praise; excellent! well done! praise to! Mīr says:-- عشق انکي عقل کو هي جو ما سواهماري ناچيز جانتي هين نابود جانتي هين iﻌshḳ unkī aﻌḳl ko hai, jo mā siwā hamāre nāchīz jānte haiṅ, nābūd jānte haiṅ, Excellent is their understanding who esteem every thing besides me worthless and null.

عمره uﻌmra A s. m. 1. Pilgrimage to Mecca. 2. Visiting a wife while in the house of her parents.

عنايت iﻌnāyat A s. f. Favour, gift, present, boun- ty. عنايت کرنا iﻌnāyat karnā, To give, to grant.

عنديه iﻌndiya A. (from Arab. عندي With me) s. m. Opinion, oneʼs own opinion.

عقايد aﻌḳaʼīd A s. m. plur. (of عقيده aﻌḳīda) Articles of religion.

عيادت iﻌyādat A s. f. Visiting of the sick.

عيال iﻌyāl A (plur. of عيل aﻌiyil, from عول or عيل To support a family, Heb. To give suck, also A suckling) s. m. Family, children, domes- ticks. عيالدار iﻌyāl-dār, Having a family.

عميق aﻌmīḳ A (from عمق) adj. Deep, profound.

عري uﻌrī A (Heb. ) adj. Naked.

عار āﻌr A (from عري Heb. To be naked) s. f. m. 1. Bashfulness, modesty. 2. Ignominy, dis- grace, shame, reproach.
