اپٿن upṭan S̱. (उद्वर्त्तन) s. m. A composition of perfumes, flour, &c. used to rub the body with.

اتپت उत्पत्ति उत् and r. पद Go. ut-patti S. s. f. Birth, origin, creation, production.

ادبهت अद्भुत adbhut S adj. Wonderful, sur- prising, admirable.

انبیا ambiyā A s. plur. (of نبي) Prophets.

املي imlī अम्लीका S̱. s. m. A tamarind tree. (Tamarindus indica).

آنند आनन्द आ and r. नदि Rejoice ā- nand S. (or a-nand) s. m. f. Happiness, joy, plea- sure, delight, felicity. آنندکند ānand-kand, Root (or source) of happiness. S. اننگ अनंग (अन् and अंग Body, i. e. Bodi- less, because this deity was reduced to ashes by the eye of Siva for having disturbed his devo- tions, and rendered him enamoured of Pārvatī) an-ang, s. m. Kāma, the Hindū god of love.

انتراپت antar-āpatt S̱. (अंतरापत्या from अंतर Within, and अपत्य Child) adj. Pregnant, with child, with young.

اپکار उपकार upa-kār S s. m. Assistance, bene- fit, kindness, favour.

اوڙا oṛā H s. m. A basket, a pannier.

استسعاد istisʼāﻌd A (inf. x. of سعد Heb. and Ch. Was happy, supported) s. m. Desiring happiness, being fortunate, considering any thing as a happy presage, conceiving well of any thing.
