صنايع ṣanāʼịﻌ A s. plur. (of صناعة) Arts, artifices, miracles.

صلابت ṣalābat A (from صلب) s. f. Firmness, hardness, severity, majesty, dignity.

صله ṣila A (from وصل) s. m. 1. Conjunction, connexion. 2. A present, a gift. 3. Poetick li- cence. 4. The relative in respect to the ante- cedent. حرف صله ḥarf-i-ṣila, A conjunctive par- ticle.

صفاٴي ṣafā-ī A. s. f. Purity, cleanness, clearness, perspicuity. صفاٴي بتاني ṣafā-ī batānī, To reject a petition without ceremony, to refuse flatly. صفاٴي کرنا ṣafā-i karnā, To make clean work of it, to accomplish fully.

صابر ṣābir A (part. act. of صبر) adj. Patient.

صاف ṣāf A. (contract. of صافي part. act. of صفو Heb. To be clean or clear) adj. Clean, clear, pure, candid, innocent, downright, flat. صاف دل ṣāf-dil, adj. Of a pure heart, candid, frank.

صبي ṣabī A (from Ch. To will, to desire, to love; the affections being strongest in youth) s. m. A youth. (Plur. صبيان).

صافي ṣāf-ī A. 1. s. f. (from صاف) Cleanness, pu- rity. 2. Sincerity, candour. 3. A filter or cloth through which drinks, medicines, &c. are strained, a strainer. 4. part. act. (of صفو) Pure, clean, &c. See صاف ṣāf. صافي نامه ṣāfī- nāma, s. m. A general release, discharge from an obligation. See under راضي rāẓī.
