صدقه ṣadḳa A (prop. ṣadaḳa, Heb. ) s. m. 1. Alms. 2. Propitiatory offerings, sacrifice. صدقي جانا يا هونا ṣadḳe-jānā or -honā, To become a sa- crifice for the welfare, &c. of another. صدقي کرنا ṣadḳe karnā, To sacrifice for the welfare, &c. of another.

صدا ṣadā A s. f. Sound, tone, echo, voice, noise.

صريحًا ṣarīḥaṉ A adv. Clearly, openly, evidently, plainly.

صندوق ṣandūḳ A or ṣundūḳ, s. f. and m. A box, a trunk, cabinet, case, chest, coffer, coffin. (Plur. صناديق). A.P. صندوقچه ṣandūḳ-cha, s. m. A small box, a casket.

صاحب کران ṣāḥib-ḳirān A s. m. An invincible hero, a great emperour.

صالح ṣāliḥ A (part. act. of صلح Heb. To be good or useful) adj. Good, apt, fit, proper. s. m. 1. A man of probity and honour. 2. A sedate, steady person (opposite to enthusiast).

صايم ṣāʼịm A part. act. (of صوم Heb. To fast) 1. A faster. 2. (adjectively) Thirsty. صايم الدهر ṣāʼịmu-d-dahr, One who fasts always.

صرفه ṣarfa A s. f. 1. Expense, expending. 2. Profusion, profit, utility, surplus, redundancy, addition. 3. The twelfth mansion of the moon, a star in the tail of Leo.

صرع ṣarﻌ A s. f. The epilepsy. A. صرف (Heb. To pour out for purification, to purify, to examine metals) ṣirf, adv. Purely,

صحبت ṣuḥbat A s. f. 1. Companionship, society. 2. An assembly, a fair. 3. Coition, cohabi- tation. 4. Discourse. صحبت برار ṣuḥbat-bar- ār, An acquaintance. صحبت براري ṣuḥbat-bar- ār-ī, Acquaintance. صحبت داري ṣuḥbat-dār-ī, s. f. Keeping company with, associating, ac- quaintance. A.
