شاخ shāḵẖ P (Sans. शाखा) s. f. 1. A bough, branch (of a tree). 2. A horn. شاخدار shāḵẖ-dār, adj. 1. Branchy. 2. شامت shāmat A s. f. 1. (from شؤم) Mischance, bad luck, adversity. 2. (from شام) A black spot or mole. ¶ shāmit (from شماتت) part. act. Laughing at anotherʼs misfortune.

شافي shāfī A part. act. (of شفا) Healing, sanative, salutary; a healer. شافي حقيقي shāfī-i-ḥaḳīḳī, An epithet of the Deity.

شگفتن shuguftan P inf. or verb. n. To bloom, blooming.

شارک shārak P s. m. A species of nightingale, or a bird of a dark colour that talks like a par- rot, perhaps the mainā or starling. S. شاستر शास्त्र (r. शास govern, teach) shāstr, s. m. 1.
