سنگهيا sanghiyā S̱. (from संगी) s. m. A companion.

سندهيا संध्या sandhyā S s. f. 1. Twilight, either in the evening or morning. 2. A period of time, forenoon, afternoon or midday. 3. Religious abstraction, meditation, repetition of mantras, sipping water, &c. to be performed by the three first classes of Hindūs at particular and stated periods in the course of every day, especially at sunrise, sunset, and also, though less essentially, at noon.

سبزه sabza P s. m. 1. Verdure, herbage. 2. In- cipient beard, bloom. 3. A green stone worn in the ear as an ornament. سبزه زار sabza-zār, A place abounding in verdure, a meadow, mead, parterre, lawn, a green.

سعي saﻌī A (Heb. To run) s. f. Endeavour, attempt, effort, enterprise, essay, purpose. سعي کرني saʼīﻌ karnī, To endeavour, attempt, strive.

سوٴر sūʼar S̱. (dakh. sūwar) s. m. A hog. See سوأر.

سليس salīs A. (prop. سلس salis from سلس) adj. Easy, not abstruse, simple, plain. سليس نويس salīs-navīs, Writing a plain hand.

سزاوار sazā-wār P adj. Worthy, deserving, fit, suitable, excellent, able, applicable, proper. سزاوارهونا sazāwār honā, To deserve, to merit.

سرشک sarashk P prop. sirishk, s. m. A tear.

سعادت saʼāﻌdat A (from سعد) s. f. Felicity, hap- piness, good fortune. سعادت مند saʼāﻌdat- mand, adj. Fortunate, prosperous, happy. سعادت مندي saʼāﻌdat-mand-ī, s. f. Prosperity.

سنکوچي संकोची sankoch-ī S adj. Bashful, re- served, diffident.
