سجوانا sajwānā S̱. (caus. of سجنا sajnā) v. a. To cause to prepare.

ستو sattū सक्तु S̱. s. m. Parched grain, reduced to meal and made into a paste. ستوخورده sattū- ḵẖụra, Pæderastes, pædicator, præposteræ ve- neri addictus.

سميٿنا sameṭnā H (caus. of سمٿنا simaṭnā, q. v.) v. a. 1. To collect together, amass. 2. To constringe, contract, compress, brace, to cause to shrivel or shrink.

سواس sūʼās H s. m. A kind of rice.

سکت sakat S̱. or sakti (शक्ति) s. f. 1. Power, strength, ability. 2. sakti, The energy or active power of a deity, personified as his wife, as Gaurī of Siva, Laksh̤mī of Vish̤ṇu. 3. The female organ as the counterpart of the phallick personification of Siva, and worshipped either literally or figuratively by a sect of Hindūs, thence termed saktas. (Wilson).

سرن saran S (शरण) s. f. An asylum, shel- ter, protection.

سبا sabā S̱. s. f. See سبها sabhā.

سکنه sakana A s. plur. (of ساکن) Inhabitants.

سکانا sakānā H v. n. To be sorrowful, to be wearied.

سگس sugas H s. (dakh.) Ease, sloth.
