ستاري sitār-ī P. (from سه Three, and تار String) s. f. A rope twisted with three strings.

سليش श्लेष slesh̤ S s. m. A pun, a double meaning, an equivoque in writing or speaking; as, کيکرپاکرتارجامن پهل سا املا سيوکدم کچنارپيپل رتي تونتج Kīkar pākar tār, jāman phalsā āmilā; seʼo kadam kachnār, pīpal rattī tūna taj. (This seems to be a catalogue of trees; it also means) God has been kind to you; that which you de- sired is obtained; adore his footsteps; silly woman! leave not your lover for a moment.

سيامتا श्यामता syāmatā S s. f. Blackness.

سرگپتالي sarg-patāl-ī स्वर्गपाताल S̱. adj. 1. Squinteyed. 2. (An ox or cow) having one horn pointing upwards and the other down- wards.

ساج sāj P s. m. The teak-tree. (Tectona grandis).

سٿا بٿا saṭṭā baṭṭā H s. m. An amour, combina- tion, collusion. (Perhaps from s. सन्नद्ध and बद्ध).

ساتهي sāth-ī सार्थी S̱. s. m. A companion, com- rade, ally, accomplice, associate. ساتهي ساتهہ sāthī sāth, Together, in one company.
