سفوف safūf A (from سفّ To take a medicine in a state of powder and dry) s. m. A medicine taken dry and unmixed, a powder (in opposi- tion to an electuary).

سورت sūrat A s. f. A chapter or division of the ḳurʼān: see سوره sūra. ¶ saurat, s. f. Impetus, force, violence, power, height (of glory).

سکهہ सुख sukh S s. m. Ease, rest, leisure, tran- quillity. سکهہ دان सुखदान sukh-dān, s. m. Giving of ease or of comfort or of content. سکهہ داٴي sukh-dāʼī, adj. Ease-affording, com- forter, giver of ease. سکهہ دايک सुखदायक sukh-dāyak, adj. Giver of ease or content. سکهہ دهام सुखधाम sukh-dhām, Abode of happiness, &c.

سماٴي samāʼī S̱. s. f. 1. (for शाम्य) Endurance, patience. 2. (from سمانا) Capability.

سينا सेना senā S s. f. An army.

سوپن स्वप्न swapna S s. m. A dream. See سپن.

سنگن sungun S̱. s. f. See سونگهن sūnghan. سنگن ليني sungun lenī, To take a smell, to take an inspection.

سيسر sesar H s. m. 1. The gripe of a bow. 2. Name of a play at cards.

سنجافي sanjāf-ī P. adj. Adorned with a border (cloths).
