سنکلپنا sankalpnā S̱. (from संकल्प) v. a. To give alms (by making a religious vow), to vow.

سرهنا sarhnā H s. m. The scale of a fish.

سنگخواره sang-ḵẖẉāra P s. A kind of bird, a smallish bird of a dark colour, called in Arabic قطاة ḳat̤āt (?).

سجسي su-jas-ī S̱. (सुयशस्वी from सु Good, and यशस् Fame) adj. Renowned.

سدا sadā सदा S̱. adv. Always. سداپهل sadā- phal, 1. s. m. A fabled fruit, eating of which confers long life, &c. 2. adj. Constantly bearing fruit (epithet of a tree). 3. Name of a flower (Hibiscus phœniceus: the white variety). 3. A kind of faḳīr dressed like a woman.

سنجمي sanjam-ī S (संयमी) adj. Sober, tem- perate, abstemious.

سل پٿ sil-paṭ S̱. adj. Smooth, even, level.

سلگهانا silghānā S̱. v. a. (dakh.) See سلگانا.

سرد शरद् sarad S s. f. Name of the fourth of the six seasons. See سرت sarat.

سباس सुवास सु Good, and वास Smell su- bās S. s. f. Sweet smell, fragrance, odour, perfume.
