سندهيا संध्या sandhyā S s. f. 1. Twilight, either in the evening or morning. 2. A period of time, forenoon, afternoon or midday. 3. Religious abstraction, meditation, repetition of mantras, sipping water, &c. to be performed by the three first classes of Hindūs at particular and stated periods in the course of every day, especially at sunrise, sunset, and also, though less essentially, at noon.

سمع samﻌ A (Heb. ) s. m. 1. The ear. 2. Hearing. A. سمک (from سمک Heb. To prop, to sup- port, to raise) 1. samk, s. m. سماع samāﻌ A (from سمع Heb. To hear) s. m. 1. Hearing, listening. 2. The sense of hearing. 3. Singing, a song. 4. Ecstacy occasioned by hearing singing, particularly in Dervises when hearing hymns.

سنار sunār स्वर्णकार S̱. s. m. A goldsmith.

سوچهمتا sūchhamtā S or sūchh̤ma-tā (सूक्ष्मता) s. f. 1. Subtileness, minuteness. 2. Shrillness.

سوکا sūkā H s. m. A quarter of a rupee piece.

سنگيا singiyā शृंगिक S̱. s. m. A sort of poison.

سارو sāro P s. f. Name of a bird, a starling.

سٿکاري siṭkārī H adj. Fusiform, tapering.

سگيان सुज्ञान su-gyān S s. m. Wisdom, intelli- gence, sagacity.
