زريح zarīḥ A s. f. A railing or lattice-work sur- rounding a temple or tomb.

زينه zīna P s. m. A ladder, stairs, steps.

زنخدان zanaḵẖdān P s. m. The chin, the pit in the chin.

زبس zi-bas P (for ازبس) In plenty, sufficiently.

زال zāl P 1. adj. Old, decrepit, grey-haired (man or woman). 2. n. prop. (or زال زر) The name of the father of Rustam, and son of Sām, son of Narīmān. He was called زال زر (zāl-i-zar) because he came into the world with white hair, and a red countenance; the former like that of an old man, the latter of golden hue.

زهره zuhra A s. f. Venus (the planet). زهره رو zuhra-rū, adj. (Like) Venus in countenance.

زمره zumra A (from زمر Heb. To sing, to play on a flute, &c.: and, perhaps, so named from its buzzing noise) s. m. A troop, a group, crowd, multitude.

زخود رفته zi-ḵẖụd-rafta P adj. See ازخود رفته az ḵẖụd rafta, under از az.

زمام zamām A (prop. zimām, from زمّ Heb. and Ch. To bind, to rein) s. f. m. A rein, a bridle.

زنگار zangār P s. m. Verdigrise, rust.
