رچهک रक्षक rachchh̤ak S s. m. A protector, keeper, guard, watchman, redeemer.

رشوت rishwat A s. f. A bribe. رشوت خور rish- wat-ḵẖor, One who takes bribes. رشوت خوري rishwat-ḵẖor-ī, s. f. The taking of bribes. رشوت دينا rishwat denā, To give a bribe, to bribe; bribery. رشوت کهانا rishwat khānā, To be bribed.

روتا rautā H s. m. See رايتا rāʼetā.

روکهڙ rūkh-aṛ S̱. s. m. A sort of devotee.

رات rāt रात्रि S̱. s. f. Night. رات تهوڙي اورسانگ بـﮩت rāt thoṛī aur sāng bahut, is applied to express a hurry of business with little time to perform it in; also great expense with a small income. Mīr says:-- بن جو کچهـ بن سکي جواني مين رات تهوڙي هي اوربـﮩت هي سانگ Ban jo kuchh ban sake jawānī meṇ; rāt thoṛī hai aur bahut hai sāng, Acquire whatever you can in the season of youth: the task is arduous and the time short. (Ars longa vita brevis. Hippoc.). آدهي رات ādhī rāt, Midnight. راتون رات rātoṅ rāt, In the middle of the night.

رفعت raf-aﻌt A s. f. Elevation, height, altitude, promotion, dignity, eminence, nobility.

روکڙ rokaṛ S̱. s. f. (रोक) Ready money, cash.

رواق riwāḳ A s. A portico, a gallery in front of a house, a lofty building resting on columns.

رفق rifḳ A s. Benignity, kindness.

رانبهنا rāmbhnā S̱. (रंभन r. रभ Sound, make a noise) v. n. To low, to bellow, to cry out.
