رودا rodā P. (for روده) s. m. 1. (A sinew used as) A bowstring. 2. A gut, catgut. 3. The branch of a creeper.

رتانا ratānā S̱. (from रति) v. a. To rut, to be lewd.

رات rāt रात्रि S̱. s. f. Night. رات تهوڙي اورسانگ بـﮩت rāt thoṛī aur sāng bahut, is applied to express a hurry of business with little time to perform it in; also great expense with a small income. Mīr says:-- بن جو کچهـ بن سکي جواني مين رات تهوڙي هي اوربـﮩت هي سانگ Ban jo kuchh ban sake jawānī meṇ; rāt thoṛī hai aur bahut hai sāng, Acquire whatever you can in the season of youth: the task is arduous and the time short. (Ars longa vita brevis. Hippoc.). آدهي رات ādhī rāt, Midnight. راتون رات rātoṅ rāt, In the middle of the night.

رسيانا risiyānā S̱. (from रोष Anger) v. n. To be vexed, to be angry, to be provoked.

راس rās A (Chald. ) s. m. The head; a head of cattle (i. e. one ox, or one horse). راس السرطان rāsu-s-sarat̤ān, The summer solstice. راس الجدي rāsu-l-jadī, The winter solstice. راس فقط rās faḳat̤, A horse of middling breed. راس کلان rās kalān, A horse of high cast.

روزي roz-ī P s. f. Daily food, employment.

رهکلا rahkalā H s. m. 1. A small cannon, a swivel, fieldpiece. 2. A cart.

رسمي rasm-ī A adj. 1. Customary. 2. Mid- dling, second sort, ordinary.
