ذهول ẕuhūl A s. m. Oblivion, forgetting.

ذو ẕū A A lord, a master, (in compos. implying) possessed of, or endowed with; as, ذوالجلال ẕu-l-jalāl, Possessed of glory, glorious. ذوالفقار ẕu-l-faḳār, A sword possessed by Muḥammad, and afterwards by Aﻌlī. ذوالمنن ẕu-l-minan, Possessor of obligations (epithet of the Deity). ذوذنب ẕū-ẕanab, adj. Tailed, having a tail (a star).

ذل ẕull A (Heb. and Ch. ) s. m. Baseness, meanness. ¶ ẕill, s. m. Gentleness, ease.

ذقن ẕaḳan A (Heb. The beard) s. m. The chin, the beard. چاه ذقن chāh-i-ẕaḳan, s. m. A dimple in the chin.

ذنب ẕamb A s. m. A crime, sin, fault. (Plur. ذنوب ẕunūb). ¶ ẕanab (Heb. ) s. m. 1. A tail. 2. The descending node.

ذي حجه zī ḥijja A s. m. The name of the last month of the Muhammadan year. (On the 10th day is the festival of بقرعيد baḳar-īﻌd).

ذيل ẕail A s. m. The skirt of a garment, the train of a robe; the last, hinder, or supplemen- tary part of any thing; train, retinue, the se- quel, that which follows or is annexed, a list of particulars mentioned in a letter, an appendix. ر

ذعاف ẕuʼāﻌf A (from ذعف ẕaʼaﻌfa, To give poison) s. m. Deadly venom. (Plur. ذعف ẕuʼuﻌf).

ذمه ẕimma A s. m. Trust, charge, obligation, subjection, duty, service, fidelity, lineage. ذمي لينا ẕimme lenā, To take in charge, to take care of, to take upon oneʼs self.

ذبح ẕabḥ A s. f. (heb. ) A sacrifice, slaugh- ter. ذبح کرنا ẕabḥ karnā, 1. To sacrifice, to immolate. 2. To kill (animals for food agreea- bly to the Muhammadan law), to slaughter. ذبح هونا ẕabḥ honā, To be sacrificed or killed, &c.
