آبله ābila P s. m. A blister. آبله پا ābila-pā, adj. Having blisters on the feet. آبله پاٴي ābila-pā-ī, s. f. The having blisters on the feet. آبله فرنگ ābila-i-farang, s. m. The French pox, a bubo.

اقتسام iḳtisām A (inf. viii. of قسمت) s. m. Di- vision, partition.

امتناع imtināﻌ A (inf. viii. of منع) s. m. Pro- hibition, restraint.

امیر amīr A s. m. A commander; a nobleman, a grandee, a lord. امیرالامرا amīru-l-umarā, Lord of lords (a title given by eastern princes to their prime ministers). امیرالبحر amīru-l-baḥr, Admi- ral. امیرالمومنین amīru-l-mūminīn, Commander of the faithful (a title of the Khalifs). اوک ūk H s. f. Errour, slip.

ارگها arghā आर्घ्य S̱. s. m. A vessel shaped like a boat, used by the Hindūs for making li- bation in their devotions.

استادي ustād-ī P s. f. Teaching, instruction, mastership, skilfulness, skill, art. ¶ adj. Mas- terly (as workmanship, &c.).

اعدا aﻌdā A s. plur. (of عدو) Enemies.

آفرین āfrīn P or āfarīn, s. f. Praise, applause, acclamation. ¶ interject. Bravo! well done!

استبرا istibrā A (inf. x. of برأ) s. m. 1. Cleansing, washing oneʼs hands of a business or desiring to be freed from it. 2. The waiting of a woman after being divorced from her husband, to as certain whether she is pregnant or not, before she can contract another marriage. (The term is three months, according to the Muhammadan law).
