دس दश das S adj. Ten. دسون دسا dasoṅ disā, The ten regions, sides or quarters (of the world, as mentioned under دکپال dik-pāl, q. v.). دسون دوار dasoṅ dwār, The ten passages for the actions of the faculties; namely, the eyes, ears, nostrils, mouth, penis, anus, and crown of the head. (It seems, however, that properly there are only nine, the last not being acknowledged in any Sanskrit works of authority which have been consulted).

درمان darmān P s. m. Medicine, remedy.

داب dāb A (from دأب To take pains, to labour. Heb. and Ch. To suffer pain, grief, or pa- tience) s. m. 1. Custom, manner, institution. 2. State, condition. 3. Vehement or forcible propulsion. داب صحبت dāb-i-ṣuḥbat, s. m. Good manners, civilisation.

دارو dārū H s. f. 1. Spirituous liquor. 2. Gun- powder.

دهڙکنا dhaṛaknā H v. n. To palpitate. To blaze(?).

دهاگا dhāgā H s. m. A thread. دهاگا ڐالنا dhāgā ḍālnā, v. a. To quilt. S. دهام धाम (r. धा Hold) dhām, s. m. A dwel- ling, a house, a place.

دهونج dhaunj S̱. (from ध्यान Contemplation) s. f. Thought, consideration, reflection.

دهاٴي dhāʼe धात्री S̱. s. f. A nurse. H.S̱. دهاٴي ماررونا dhāʼe mār ronā, To cry, to groan, to weep bitterly. See دهاه مارنا dhāh mārnā.

دير der P s. f. Delay, tardiness, slowness, a long time. adv. Late, slow. ديرپا der-pā, adj. Durable, lasting. ديرپاي der-pā-ī, s. f. Du- rability. ديرتک der tak or ديرتلک der ta- lak, For a long time, till late. ديرخوابي der- ḵẖẉāb-ī, s. f. Late sleeping. ديرگاه der-gāh, adv. Always.
