درميان dar-miyān P 1. s. m. Interval, middle, midst. 2. adv. postpos. or prepos. In the midst, between, before, in view. درميان دينا darmiyān denā, To employ as a mediator. درميان لانا dar-miyān lānā, To introduce (a dis- course, &c.).

دچتا du-chitā S̱. (द्विचित्त) adj. Of two minds, wavering, distracted. S. دچهـ दक्ष (r. दक्ष Increase, make haste) dachh̤, adj. 1. Learned, scientifick, dexterous, able.

درنده daranda P or darinda, part. act. (of دريدن Tearing; (adjec- tively) Rapacious, fierce, ravenous; (subst.) Ravenous beast, beast of prey.

دراٴي darāʼī P s. f. 1. A bell. 2. (in compos. from درامدن To enter, or from دراييدن To talk, to vociferate) Entering, conversation, talking, beginning of a discourse. هرزه دراٴي harza- darāʼī, s. f. Talking nonsense, chattering. ديده دراٴي dīda-darāʼī, s. f. Intercourse or conversa- tion with the eyes. 3. Contradiction. 4. A blacksmithʼs hammer.

داسا dāsā H s. m. 1. A piece of wood sticking out from a wall to support the thatch (or chhap- par). 2. A reapinghook. (Sans. दात्र).
