دهما چوکڙي dhamā chaukṛī H s. f. Noise, tu- mult, bustle.

دهويندهي ڐکار dhoʼendhī ḍakār H s. f. A sour belch.

دگدهنا dagadhnā S̱. (from दग्ध r. दह Burn) v. a. 1. To burn. 2. To tease, to vex. 3. To chide, to threaten, to upbraid, to revile, to pester.

دهرب dhrub ध्रुव S̱. s. m. 1. Pole of the earth, polar star, north pole. 2. adj. True, right.

دنباله dumbāla P s. m. 1. A tail. 2. The outer angle or corner of the eye. 3. adv. After, behind. دنباله دار dumbāla-dār, adj. Tailed. ستاره دنباله دار sitāra-e-dumbāla-dār, A comet.

دوس dos S̱. (दोष r. दुष Be defiled, &c.) s. m. Crime, fault, blame. دوس هونا dos honā, To be sick after childbirth, from neglect of regi- men.

دردر daridr S̱. s. m. See داردر dāridr.

دورنا daurnā S̱. v. n. See دوڙنا dauṛnā.

داهنا dāhinā S̱. or dāhnā, adj. Right (opposite to left. Sans. दक्षिण South or right; because the earth, the navel of which corresponds to Hindūstān, has its head to the west, its feet to the east, the right side to the south, and the left to the north; or, perhaps, from the position of eastern people in adoration of the sun. In Arab. شمال denotes the north or left: and, this agrees with the manner in which the Roman augurs determined the regions of the heavens, according to Livy, I. 18.).
