دينتا dīn-tā S (दीनता) s. f. Poverty, in- digence; humility.

دين दीन dīn S adj. Poor, needy, indigent; humble. دين ديال दीनदयालु dīn-dayāl, Merciful to the poor, دين بندهو दीनबंधु dīn- bandhu, The friend of the poor, and دينناتهـ दिननाथ dīna-nāth, Lord of the poor, are epithets of the Deity.

دهڙا dhaṛā H s. m. 1. A party. 2. A weight. دهڙا باندهنا dhaṛā bāndhnā, To make up a standard to weigh by, with bricks or any thing else; as, by having one weight (of a pound, suppose) it is doubled, quadrupled, and so on, till the weight requisite is obtained.

دپو dapū H s. f. The anus. (Vulgar).

ددکارنا dud-kārnā S̱. v. a. (dakh.) To expel, drive away.

دوادو dau-ā-dau P (from دويدن) s. f. Labour and fatigue, bustle, toil.

درنا durnā H v. n. To be hidden or concealed, to be absent, to disappear, to lurk.

دبنگ dabang H adj. Ill-bred, brutish, bar- barous, foolish, dolt, lout.

دنگئي dangaʼī H (from دنگا) adj. Turbulent, mutinous, mutineer, sedi- tious.

دان dān P 1. part. act. (of دانستن) Knowing, understanding (used in compos.); as, قدردان ḳadr-dān, Knowing the value or quality (of persons). نکته دان nukta-dān, Subtile, penetrating. 2. An affix denoting the receptacle, place or stand; as, قلم دان ḳalam-dān, A pen-case. شمع دان shamﻌ-dān, A candlestick.
