دکهنا dakhnā S̱. or dakkh̤iṇā (दक्षिण) 1. adj. Southern. 2. s. f. Southerly wind.

دهامن dhāmin H s. m. 1. A kind of serpent (which is said to suck cows and to be harmless). 2. A kind of wood. 3. A kind of bamboo.

دنيا dunyā A (either as being near and present or as worthless, from دنو) s. f. 1. The world. 2. (met.) People, goods of the world. دنيا پواتاني پڙنا dunyā po utāne paṛnā (dakh.) To be proud or haughty. دنيا دار dunyā-dār, Worldly, a person of the world. دنيا داري dunyā-dār-ī, s. f. Economy, worldliness, attention to the concerns of the world. دنيا طلبي dunyā-t̤alab-ī, s. f. Seeking the goods of the world, worldliness.

درگير dar-gīr P (from درگرفتن) adj. Burning, in- flaming, making an impression, effective.

دهيانون dhyānauṅ S̱. v. a. (in Braj) See دهيانا dhyānā.

ديجو dejū S̱. s. m. Part of a portion or dowry.

دهوليانا dhauliyānā H (from دهول dhaul) v. a. To thump, to box, to slap, to cuff.

دناٴي dināʼī H s. m. A tetter, a ringworm.

دمڙي damṛī S̱. (from द्रम्म) s. f. The eighth part of a paisā. دمڙي کي تين تين هونا damṛī ke tīn tīn honā, To be ruined, demolished.

دق diḳḳ A (Heb. and Chald. ) s. m. 1. A hectick fever. 2. Teasing, trouble, &c. See دقت diḳḳat. دق کرنا diḳḳ karnā, To perplex, plague, tease, annoy, incommode, irritate, ex- asperate. دق هونا diḳḳ honā, To be irritated, &c. دق دار diḳḳ-dār, adj. Troublesome, teasing. دق داري diḳḳ-dār-ī, s. f. Trouble, vexa- tion.
