دسي dasī दशा S̱. s. f. 1. Thread. 2. The un- wove threads at the end of a piece of cloth.

دالان dālān P s. m. A hall. دردالان dar-dālān, s. m. An outer hall.

دلاوري dilāwar-ī P s. f. Bravery, boldness.

دبيل dabel H (from دبنا) s. m. Subject, person under dominion.

دهنده dihanda P (or, contracted دهند dihand from دادن) part. act. Giving, giver, donor.

دهينو dhenū धेनु S̱. s. f. A milch cow.

دهوني dhūnī S̱. (from धूम) s. f. 1. Persevering. 2. Smoke. 3. A fire lighted by a Hindū faḳīr, over which he sits, imbibing the smoke, by way of penance. It is often practised by them, in the manner of dharnā, to extort compliance with their demands. Hence دهوني دينا dhūnī denā, To dun, to importune: to smoke. دهوني لگاني dhūnī lagānī, To insist obstinately, or to persevere in a demand. 4. Fumigation by way of exorcising one possessed; or, as a medical application. دهوني لينا dhūnī lenā, To inhale smoke, or undergo fumigation.

دابنا dābnā H (trans. of دبنا) v. a. 1. To press down, to suppress, to snub. 2. To squeeze. داب رکهنا dāb rakhnā, 1. Toconceal, to steal and conceal. 2. To press (particularly, with the thighs), to retain by pressure, to gripe (as, money). داب لينا dāb lenā, To outgrow.
