دهانا duhānā S̱. (causal of دوهنا from दोहन) v. a. To cause to milk.

درميان dar-miyān P 1. s. m. Interval, middle, midst. 2. adv. postpos. or prepos. In the midst, between, before, in view. درميان دينا darmiyān denā, To employ as a mediator. درميان لانا dar-miyān lānā, To introduce (a dis- course, &c.).

دوهيا dūhiyā H s. m. A kind of fire-place.

ديرين der-īn P adj. (by poets for ديرينه) Old.

دند dand P 1. s. A rib, a toothed instrument used by weavers, a tooth, any astringent that contracts the mouth, name of a very purgative grain or seed, a sort of beggars that wound themselves if something be not soon given them, a sort of herb or grass. 2. adj. Poor, needy, foolish, ignorant, fearless, self-willed, thief, ir- religious.

دهونس دهڙلا dhauṅs dhaṛallā H s. m. Blustering, bullying, tumult, the impetuous assault of a crowd or body of men.

دنيا dunyā A (either as being near and present or as worthless, from دنو) s. f. 1. The world. 2. (met.) People, goods of the world. دنيا پواتاني پڙنا dunyā po utāne paṛnā (dakh.) To be proud or haughty. دنيا دار dunyā-dār, Worldly, a person of the world. دنيا داري dunyā-dār-ī, s. f. Economy, worldliness, attention to the concerns of the world. دنيا طلبي dunyā-t̤alab-ī, s. f. Seeking the goods of the world, worldliness.
