خليرا ḵẖalerā A. (from خال or خاله) adj. Descend-

خر ḵẖar P s. m. An ass. (Sans. खर). خربا تشديد ḵẖar bā-tashdīd, Very stupid. خردشتي ḵẖar-i-dasht-ī, s. m. A wild ass, onager. خردماغي ḵẖar-dimāg̠ẖ-ī, s. f. Stupidity, obstinacy, perverseness.

خلخال ḵẖalḵẖāl A s. m. A ring of gold or silver with bells to it worn round the ankle.

خريت ḵẖar-īyat P. s. f. Asinine quality, stupi- dity.

خطير ḵẖat̤īr A (from خطر) adj. Great, important, honourable, dignified.

خاتم ḵẖātim A (from ختم Heb. To seal, to close, to finish) s. f. 1. A ring worn on the fin- gers. 2. A seal. خاتم المرسلين ḵẖātimu-l-mur- salīn or خاتم الانبيا ḵẖātimu-l-ambiyā, The seal of the prophets, i. e. Muhammad. خاتم بند ḵẖātim-band, A seal-setter.

خادمه ḵẖādima A s. f. (of خادم ḵẖādim, q. v.) A female servant.

خطر ḵẖat̤ar A s. m. 1. Recollection, coming into the mind, thought, remembrance. 2. Danger, risk, fortune. خطرناک ḵẖat̤ar-nāk, adj. Fright- ful, dangerous, hazardous. خطرناکي ḵẖat̤ar- nāk-ī, s. f. Dangerousness. (Plur. خطرات).

خالي ḵẖālī A (from خلو) adj. 1. Empty, vacant, void, desert, exempt or free (from). 2. Pure, mere, only, unmixed. 3. Unoccupied, unem- ployed, without effect. خالي کرنا ḵẖālī karnā, To empty, evacuate. خالي هاتهـ ḵẖālī hāth, adj. 1. Empty-handed; penniless. 2. Unarmed.

خاص ḵẖāṣṣ A (vulg. ḵẖāṣ, from خصّ Heb. To cut, to divide, to appropriate) adj. 1. Ex- cellent, noble, pure, unmixed. 2. Particular, private, what is kept for the kingʼs (or the mas- terʼs) private use, own, proper, peculiar, single, gentle. 3. adv. Especially, peculiarly. خاص بردار ḵẖāṣṣ-bardār, s. m. A servant who, in a great manʼs retinue, carries a firelock. خاص خواص ḵẖāṣṣ-ḵẖaẉāṣṣ, A royal female servant. خاصدان ḵẖāṣṣ-dān, A kind of canteen to carry water-vessels in. خاص محل ḵẖāṣṣ-maḥal, s. m. Private apartment, the apartments of married women (in opposition to ḵẖụrd-maḥal); met. First married wife. خاص وعام ḵẖāṣṣ o āﻌmm, Noble and plebeian.
