حربه ḥarba A s. m. Arms, warlike apparatus. حربه کرنا ḥarba karnā, To attack, to thrust (at).

حرفه ḥirfa A s. m. 1. Trade, art, profession, craft. 2. Skill, inge- nuity, cleverness, cunning. 3. (dakh.) See مکر makr.

حد ḥadd A s. f. 1. Boundary, limit, bounds, extreme, extremity. 2. An impediment. 3. A definition. 4. A starting-post. 5. Punish- ment agreeable to the laws of Muhammad, which fix the exact number of lashes, &c. to be inflicted for certain crimes. Also, same as ازحد az ḥadd or حدسي ḥadd se or حدسي افزون ḥadd se afzūn or حدسي زياد ḥadd se ziyād or حد سي زياده ḥadd se ziyāda, Beyond bounds, extremely. حد باندهنا ḥadd bāndhnā, To bound, to terminate. حد بهر کرنا ḥadd bhar karnā, To do oneʼs best. حد کرنا ḥadd karnā, To push any thing to extremity, to go beyond bounds. حد مارنا ḥadd mārnā, To punish.

حاضري ḥāẓir-ī A s. f. 1. Breakfast, desert. 2. Levee, presence, audience, muster-roll. 3. An offering made to a saint. حاضري کهانا ḥāẓirī khānā, To breakfast.

حکم ḥukm A s. m. Order, command, decree, sentence, doom, award, authority, jurisdiction, precept, effect, influence, efficiency, permis- sion, article (of faith, &c.). (Plur. احکام). حکم اٿهانا يا نکالنا ḥukm-uṭhānā or -nikālnā, To draw at cards. حکم انداز ḥukm-andāz, Hitting the mark aimed at, obedient to directions. حکم ران ḥukm-rān (حکم with the part. act. of راندن To drive) Ruling, exercising sovereignty. حکم راني ḥukm-rān-ī, s. f. حاضر ḥāẓir A (part. act. of حضور) adj. Present, ready, at hand, willing, content; the second person (in grammar). Plur. Arab. حاضرين ḥāẓirīn, Pers. حاضران ḥāẓirān, The people pre- sent. حاضر باش ḥāẓir-bāsh (be ready) adj. Content, attendant. حاضر باشي ḥāẓir-bāsh-ī, s. f. Constant attendance. حاضر جواب ḥāẓir- jawāb, adj. Pert, answering wittily, smart. حاضر جوابي ḥāẓir-jawāb-ī, s. f. Repartee. حاضر رهنا ḥāẓir rahnā, To attend, to wait on. حاضر ضامن ḥāẓir-ẓāmin, s. m. Bail security for the appearance of another, a bondsman. حاضر ضامني ḥāẓir-ẓāmin-ī, s. f. 1. The act of giving bail for another. 2. A bail-bond. حاضر و ناظر ḥāẓir-o-nāz̤ir, adj. Present and seeing. حاضر هونا ḥāẓir honā, To be at hand, to be ready, to consent.
