چهونکن chhonkan H s. m. Spices with which food is seasoned.

چلونا chalaunā S̱. s. m. A small stick with which the spinning wheel is turned. P.H. چله chilla, s. m. See p. h. چلا chillā.

چالا chālā P. adj. Laborious, active, hard working, alert, fleet, nim- ble, ingenious, clever, dexterous, expert. چالاک دست chālāk-dast, adj. Dexterous, adroit, cle- ver. چالاک دستي chālāk-dast-ī, s. f. Sleight of hand, adroitness, dexterity, cleverness.

چتاونا chitāʼonā S̱. v. a. See چتانا chitānā.

چاندني chāndnī चान्द्री S̱. s. f. 1. The moon- beams, moonlight. 2. Name of a flower. 3. A cloth spread over a carpet. 4. Any thing white and shining. چاندني چوک chāndnī-chauk, s. m. A wide and publick street or market. چاندني رات chāndnī-rāt, A moonlight night. چاندني کا مارجانا chāndnī kā mār jānā, v. n. To be affected with a disease supposed to proceed from a stroke of the moon (a horse).

چتر चित्र chitr S s. m. A picture. چترسال يا سالا يا ساري chitr-sāl, or -sālā, or -sārī (चित्रशाला) A gallery of pictures, a picture-room.

چٿک chaṭak H s. f. 1. A crash, a crack, a smack. 2. Intelligence, gaudiness. 3. Glitter, splendour, prime of life. 4. adj. Intelligent, quick. چٿک سي chaṭak se, adv. Deceiving. چٿک سي جانا chaṭak se jānā, To pay with the fore topsail. چٿک واٴي chaṭāk-wāʼī, s. f. Quickness.
