چکر चक्र chakkar S or chakr, s. m. 1. A whirl- wind or whirlpool. 2. A discus or sharp cir- cular missile weapon. (It was with this instru- ment, called सुदर्शनचक्र that Vish̤ṇu cut off the head of the Asur Rāhu, when, after churning the ocean, the Surs or gods, and Asurs fought for the amr̤ita or nectar). چکردهاري चक्रधारी chakr-dhārī, A peacock, Vish̤ṇu. 3. A circular course, the lounge (in manage). چکرکهانا chakkar khānā (dakh. i. q. فريب کهانا) To be deceived or tricked. چکرمارنا chakr mārnā, To wheel round, to whirl round. گهوڙيکوچکردينا ghoṛe ko chakkar denā, To lounge a horse. 4. (met.) A misfortune, scrape, per- plexity. 5. A side or quarter; as, چـﮩون چکرمين chahūṅ chakkar meṅ, On the four sides, on all sides. چکرورتي चक्रवर्त्ती chakr-vartī, s. m. 1. A universal monarch. 2. A title of Brāhmans in Bengal.

چهٿنا chhuṭnā S̱. (r. चुट or छुट Divide, cut) v. n. To be adrift, to be discharged, to be got rid of, to be let go or left off, to be left or aban- doned, to slip (from), to escape, to be liberated, to be loose, to be dishevelled (the hair).

چوڙانا chauṛā-nā H (from چوڙا) v. a. To increase in breadth, to expand, to widen.

چوانا choʼānā S̱. (caus. of چونا chūnā) v. a. To cause to drip, to distil, drop, filter, draw off.

چمکاهٿ chamkāhaṭ H s. f. Glitter, splendour, brilliancy, flourish, brightness, much light.

چٿکي chuṭkī H s. f. 1. A pinch. 2. Snapping of the fingers. 3. The hammer of a gun. 4. A mode of printing cloth or gulbadan. 5. Name of an ornament worn on the toes. چٿکي بهرنا يا لينا chuṭkī-bharnā or -lenā, 1. To nip, to pinch. 2. To throw out provoking insinuations. چٿکيون مين اڙانا chuṭkiyoṅ meṅ uṛānā, To put one off with a joke.

چهار chhār H s. f. A large clod of earth.

چنوٿي chunauṭī चूर्णवती S̱. s. f. 1. A box for holding the lime used to chew along with betel. 2. A small spoon used to take out the lime.

چهيڙا chheṛā H (from چهيڙنا q. v.) s. m. Touch, &c.

چوڐول chau-ḍol S̱. s. m. A kind of sedan with two poles.
