چهيٿنا chhīṭnā H v. a. To scatter, to sprinkle.

چين chain H s. m. 1. Ease, relief, repose, tran- quillity. 2. Denying a bet in gaming, impos- ture. چين چمن کرنا chain chaman karnā, (dakh.) To rectify, repair: see درست کرنا du- rust karnā.

چهوه chhoh क्षोभ S̱. s. m. 1. Affection. 2. Anger.

چپنا chapnā H v. n. 1. To be abashed, to be bash- ful in company, to blush, submit, stoop. 2. To be crushed or squeezed. ¶ chipnā (for چهپنا chhipnā, q. v.) v. n. To be concealed.

چکربا chakarbā H s. m. Revelry. چکربا مچانا chakarbā machānā, v. a. To revel, to riot.

چروانا charwānā S̱. v. a. See چرانا charānā.

چموکن chamūkan H s. m. A tick or louse infesting cattle. S̱.چميٿاchameṭā (चपेट) s. m. Box, thump, blow.

چوکي chaukī H s. f. 1. A frame to sit on, a stool, bench. 2. Guard or watch, watching. 3. The post where a guard is stationed. 4. An orna- ment worn on the breast. چوکيدار chaukī-dār, 1. adj. Keeping guard. 2. s. m. A watchman. چوکيداري chaukīdār-ī, s. f. 1. The business of a watchman. 2. The pay or hire of a watchman. چوکي دينا chaukī denā, To watch, guard, mount guard. چوکي مارنا chaukī mārnā, To smuggle.

چاهت chāhat S̱. (from چاهنا q. v.) s. f. Desire, will, wishing, volition, love, liking.

چابک chābuk P 1. adj. Active, alert. 2. s. m. A horse-whip. (In this sense, however, it is found in the works of ḵẖusrau only, and it is probably Hindī). چابک بازي chābuk-bāzī, s. f. Whipping, lash. چابک دست chābuk-dast, adj. Nimble, active, alert, quick, adroit, beau- tiful. چابک پهٿکارنا chābuk phaṭkārnā, To crack a whip. چابک سوار chābuk-sawār, s. m. 1. A horsebreaker, a jockey. 2. A good rider. 3. A horse-broker. چابک سواري chābuk-sawār-ī, s. f. Jockeyship, &c. چابک مارنا chābuk mār- nā, To whip, lash, flog.
