جام jām P s. m. 1. A goblet, cup, glass, any vessel for drinking out of, a bowl. 2. A mirror. جام جم يا جمشيد jām-i-jam or -jamshīd, s. m. The mirror of Jamshīd, in which he saw what- ever he wished. جام جـﮩ‍ان نما jām-i-jahān-numā, A pharos. جام لب ريز jām-i-lab-rez, A bumper.

جڙانا juṛānā S̱. (causal of جوڙنا) 1. To cause to join, to cause to couple, to get mended. 2. To tear the hair in token of grief or vexation.

جلسيني jal-senī S̱. (जलशयन from जल Wa- ter, and r. शी Sleep) s. f. 1. Sleeping in water by way of mortification. 2. A fish.

جهجهکنا jhijhaknā H or jhajhaknā, v. n. To start or boggle, to feel the sensation of the limbs being asleep, or as if pins and needles were striking into them.

جهرنا jharnā S̱. (झर A cascade) 1. s. m. A skim- mer. 2. A spring, a cascade. 3. v. n. To spring, to flow. 4. See جهڙنا jhaṛnā.

جهاٴين jhāʼīṅ छाया S̱. s. f. 1. Shadow. 2. A freckle, or black mark on the face (not a mole).
