جر jarr A s. m. 1. Drawing, dragging. 2. The base, foundation, foot of a mountain. 3. The vowel kasra at the end of words. حرف جر or جار ḥarf-i-jarr or -jārr, A particle which gives to the noun a termination in kasra.

جوتک jotik S̱. (ज्योतिष) s. m. Astrology, astronomy.

جڙوانا jaṛwānā S̱. (caus. of جڙنا jaṛnā) v. a. To cause to set with jewels.

جوونون jowanauṅ H v. a. (in Braj) To see, to look at, to regard.

جهلجهلانا jhaljhalānā S̱. (from s. r. ज्वल Shine) v. n. 1. To glitter, to glare. 2. To be in a pas- sion. 3. To throb, to ache, to smart.

جهاڙنا jhāṛnā H v.a. To sweep, brush, shift, clean, strain, knock off, dash, strike, flap, strike fire (as, with a flint), to beat (bushes, &c.). جهاڙپچهورکرديکهنا jhāṛ pachhor kar dekhnā (dakh.) To try, to prove, to examine. جهاڙنا پهونکنا jhāṛnā phūnknā, To exorcise, to repeat spells or charms. جهاڙڐالنا jhāṛ ḍālnā, v. a. To sweep out or away. جهاڙدينا jhāṛ denā, v. a. To brush, to clear away.
