جوار joʼār H or jwār, s. f. 1. The name of a grain, Indian corn, maize. (Holcus sorgum). ¶ 2. ja- wār, Flood-tide.

جٿت जटित jaṭit S adj. Clotted, matted, set (with jewels, &c.); s. f. Set work of jewels, &c.

جهاڙ jhāṛ H s. m. 1. Bushes, brambles, bush, shrub, brake, underwood. 2. A kind of fire- work. 3. A lustre or chandelier, the same as پنج شاخه panj-shāḵẖa, q. v. under پنجه. 4. A purge. 5. Continued rain, &c. see جهڙي jhaṛī. جهاڙباندهنا jhāṛ bāndhnā, To rain without ceasing. جهاڙ پـﮩ‍اڙ jhāṛ pahāṛ, Digression. جهاڙپهونک jhāṛ phūnk, s. f. Juggling, conjuring, hocus pocus (particularly, to cure the bite of a snake or a disease). جهاڙجهٿک jhāṛ jhaṭak, s. f. Sweeping. جهاڙجهنکهار jhāṛ jhankhār, s. m. Brambles, large dry bushes. جهاڙجهوڙ jhāṛ jhūṛ, s. f. 1. Sweepings; perquisites. 2. Thick- et. جهاڙکهنڐ jhāṛ-khanḍ, 1. adj. Bushy. 2. s. m. A forest, the forest of Baijnāth.

جتانا jatānā S̱. (from यत्न) v. a. To inform of, to caution, warn, apprize, admonish, remind, de- clare, proclaim, make known. ¶ jitānā (caus. of جيتنا) v. a. To cause to win or conquer. ¶ jutānā (from युक्त) v. a. To conglutinate. ¶ jutānā (योजन) v. n. 1. To be joined, to yoke. 2. to be tilled.

جوا युवा juvā S 1. adj. mas. Young, juvenile. 2. s. m. A young man or one of the virile age, or from sixteen to seventy.

جهنجهنانا jhanjhanānā झणत्कार S̱. v. n. To tinkle, clink, tingle, ring, gingle, rattle.

جاپ जाप jāp S (r. जप Recite to oneʼs self) s. m. Muttering of prayers, &c. See جپ jap. (A Hindū term).

جرنون jurnauṅ S̱. (from युक्त) v. n. (in Braj) To unite, to be joined.
