جهال jhāl H s. m. 1. Sharpness, heat, fieriness (as, of pepper), acrimony. 2. A large basket. 3. Joining or soldering of metals.

جهاڙنا jhāṛnā H v.a. To sweep, brush, shift, clean, strain, knock off, dash, strike, flap, strike fire (as, with a flint), to beat (bushes, &c.). جهاڙپچهورکرديکهنا jhāṛ pachhor kar dekhnā (dakh.) To try, to prove, to examine. جهاڙنا پهونکنا jhāṛnā phūnknā, To exorcise, to repeat spells or charms. جهاڙڐالنا jhāṛ ḍālnā, v. a. To sweep out or away. جهاڙدينا jhāṛ denā, v. a. To brush, to clear away.

جاگير jā-gīr P s. f. Land given by government as a reward for services, or as a fee; a pension (in land), a fief. جاگيردار jāgīr-dār, s. m. The holder of a fee or jāgīr, a feoffee.

A diagram of a mystical nature, or astrological character. 6. An amulet. جنترمنتر jantr- mantr (यंत्रमंत्र) s. m. Juggling, conjuring, enchanting by figures and incantations.

جگيسر jaggesar S̱. or jagneshwar (यज्ञेश्वर) s. m. A name of Vish̤ṇu and of Siva.
