جوڙا joṛā S̱. (जोड from r. जुड Join, couple) s. m. 1. Joining, connexion, a pair, a couple;

جيد jīd A s. The neck. ¶ jayad, s. Length of neck or slenderness of it with length.

جل jull A s. f. A housing or covering for an ele- phant, bullock, &c.

جازم jāzam H. s. f. A cloth thrown over a carpet to sit on. See جاجم jājam.

جڙتا जडता jaṛatā S s. f. Immovableness, stiffness, rigidity, torpor, stupidity, apathy.

جرانا jurānā H v. n. To be comforted or pacified.

جهلنا jhulnā S̱. (r. दुल) v. n. To swing, to dangle.

جامداري jāma-dār-ī P s. f. Guarding, the ward- robe keepers, the guards.

جانب jānib A s. f. Part, side. adv. Towards. جانب دار jānib-dār, A supporter, a second. جانب داري jānib-dār-ī, Supporting, seconding.

جاجت jājat A s. f. The series of binary com- binations of letters beginning with ج (jīm). S. جاجک याजक (r. यज Worship) jājak, s. m. A Brāhman, who presides at the performance of a religious ceremony, an officiating priest.
