جمـﮩ‍انا jamhānā जृम्भण S̱. v. n. To gape, to yawn.

جڙي jaṛī जटा S̱. s. f. The root of a medici- nal herb. جڙي بوٿي jaṛi būṭī, s. f. Medicinal herbs, drugs, simples. S̱.H. جڙيا jaṛiyā (from جڙنا) s. m. 1. A jeweller, setter of jewels. 2. A striker.

جٿا jaṭā S s. f. (जटा) Matted hair. جٿا دهاري जटाधारी jaṭā- dhārī, 1. adj. Whose hair is matted. 2. s. f. The cocks-comb flower, amaranth. (Celosia cristata).

جوا युवा juvā S 1. adj. mas. Young, juvenile. 2. s. m. A young man or one of the virile age, or from sixteen to seventy.

جامونت jāmwant जाम्बुवत् S̱. s. m. A fabulous bear, father-in-law to Kr̤ish̤ṇa.

جيبهـ jībh जिह्वा S̱. s. f. The tongue. جيبهـ بڙهانا jībh baṛhānā, 1. To be loquacious and abusive. 2. To pursue pleasures beyond oneʼs reach. جيبهـ پکڙنا jībh pakaṛnā, 1. To silence, to interrupt oneʼs discourse. 2. To criticise mi- nutely. جيبهـ جهکانا jībh jhukānā, To pretend to wealth falsely. جيبهـ چاٿنا jībh chāṭnā, To long after or covet unattainable enjoyment. جيبهـ چلانا jībh chalānā, To boast beyond oneʼs abi- lity. جيبهـ دابکي بات کـﮩنا jībh dābke bāt kahnā, To speak with reserve. جيبهـ کاٿنا jībh kāṭnā, 1. To forbid by signs. 2. (from the Persian) To grant the request of a petitioner. 3. To be struck with terrour or astonishment. جيبهـ نکالنا jībh nikālnā, To be extremely fatigued or thirsty.
