توقر tawaḳḳur A (inf. v. of وقر) s. m. Respect, honour, modesty, mildness.

توقع tāwaḳḳuﻌ A (inf. v. of وقوع) s. f. 1. Ex- pectation, hope, desire, wish, trust, reliance. 2. Request. توقع رکهنا tawaḳḳuﻌ rakhnā, To ex- pect, to hope.

توقف tawaḳḳuf A (inf. v. of وقف) s. m. Delay, pause, hesitation, cessation, tediousness; pa- tience. توقف کرنا tawaḳḳuf karnā, To pause, hesitate, wait, delay, dally.

متوقع mutawaḳḳiﻌ A (part. act. V. of وقع) adj. Expecting, expected.

متوقف mutawaḳḳif A (part. act. V. of وقف) adj. Slow, tardy, delaying, waiting for, expecting.

مطوق mut̤auwaḳ A (part. pass. II. of طوق) adj. Having a collar or chain round the neck.

موقت muwaḳḳat A (part. pass. II. of وقت) adj. Fixed or restricted to a certain definite time.

موقر muwaḳḳar A (part. pass. II. of وقر Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Honoured, revered, respected, respectable.

وقار waḳār A (from وقر Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. 1. Dignity, estimation. 2. Steadiness, constancy. 3. Modesty, gravity, mildness, honour, reputation.

وقايع waḳāʼịﻌ A s. plur. (of واقيعه or وقعه) News, events. وقايع نگار waḳāʼịﻌ-nigār or وقايع نويس waḳāʼịﻌ-navīs, An intelligencer. وقايع نگاري waḳāʼịﻌ-nigār-ī, s. f. The office of an intelli- gencer.

وقت waḳt A s. m. Time, season, opportunity. (met.) Adversity. Plur. اوقات auḳāt, s. f. Times, &c. وقت بوقت waḳt ba-waḳt, From time to time. وقت بيوقت waḳt be-waḳt, In season or out of season, a time that admits not of delay, constantly, perpetually. وقت پر waḳt par, At (proper) time, seasonably, betimes. وقت پڙنا waḳt paṛnā, To suffer misfortunes, to be distressed. وقت کاٿنا waḳt kāṭnā, To pass away the time. وقت کي وقت waḳt ke waḳt, At all times. وقت نازک waḳt-i-nāzuk, Deli- cate times. وقت نا وقت waḳt nā waḳt, Occa- sionally, without any stated time. وقت ياب waḳt-yāb, Finding an opportunity.

وقف waḳf A s. m. 1. Standing, stopping, under- standing. 2. Tranquillity, firmness, constancy, permanency. 3. A legacy for pious uses, an endowment or dedication or foundation for pub- lick charity. وقف خم چوگان waḳf-i-ḵẖam-i-chaugān, Implies very humbly devoted. وقف کرنا waḳf karnā, To dedicate to pious uses.

وقفه waḳfa A s. m. 1. Delay. 2. Choking, stop- ping, retarding, respite, vacancy, pause.

وقفيت waḳf-īyat A s. f. The book in which le- gacies for pious uses are registered.
