اوٿ پٿانگ ūṭ-paṭāng H s. m. Absurdity, non- sense, what is without meaning or foundation. adj. Poor, helpless, destitute, in disorder.

اوٿ پٿانگي ūṭ-paṭāng-ī H adj. (used substantively) One who speaks inconsiderately or without preparation.

اٿپٿانگي aṭpaṭāngī H adj. Inconsiderate, irregu- lar, unstudied, thoughtless.

سٿپٿانا saṭpaṭānā H v. n. To be confounded, to be surprised. H. S̱. سٿ دينا saṭ denā, v. a. (dakh.) 1. To throw, to cast. 2. (ناچيزسمجهنا) To consider worth- less or of no consequence.

لٿ پٿا laṭ-paṭā H adj. 1. Playful, wanton, frisky, humourous. 2. Irregularly folded (a turband).

لٿ پٿانا laṭ-paṭānā H v. n. To stagger, to trip.

لٿا پٿا laṭā paṭā H s. m. Baggage, furniture, ef- fects.

پٿا paṭā S̱. s. m. 1. (पट्टिश) A foil, a wooden scimitar for cudgelling with. پٿي باز paṭe-bāz, (1.) A fencer, a cudgeller. (2.) (met.) A co- quette, a wanton, a strumpet. پٿاکاٿنا paṭā kāṭ- nā, v. a. To discharge from service. ¶ 2. (पट्ट) A board on which Hindūs sit whilst eating their meals or performing religious cere- monies.

پٿاخا paṭāḵẖā H (properly, پٿاکا from پٿاک A sound) s. m. A cracker, a squib.

پٿانا paṭānā H (trans. of پٿنا) v. a. 1. To irrigate, to water. 2. To prepare a چوکا chaukā with cow-dung dissolved in water. 3. To place the beams on the roof of a house. 4. To pay money.

پٿاو paṭāʼo H (from پٿانا) s. m. 1. Irrigating, flooding a field. 2. Roofing a house with tiles, &c.

پٿاپر paṭāpar H s. m. Name of a fruit.

پٿاپٿ paṭāpaṭ पटत्पटत् S̱. s. m. The sound of beating or of the falling of drops of rain.

پٿاک paṭāk H s. m. A sound, a crash.

چهٿپٿانا chhaṭpaṭānā H v. n. To toss, to tum- ble about, to flounder. S̱.H. چهٿپن chhuṭpan (from چهوٿا q. v.) s. m. Infan- cy, childhood.
