اپائي उपाय उप, आ and r. इ Go upāʼe S. or upāya, s. m. Expedient, plan, contrivance, scheme, preparation, redress, remedy.

اپائي उपायी upāʼī S or upāyī, adj. Resorting to expedients, contriving, remedying; contriver.

اپاو upāʼo S̱. s. m. Remedy, redress: see اپائي.

جلپاٴي jalpāʼī H s. f. 1. The Elæocarpus ser- ratus. 2. An olive.

سپاٴي sipāʼī P. (prop. سه پايه) A tripod, trevet, a three-legged stool, table, &c.

پاؤتي pāʼotī S̱. (see پانا) s. f. Income: see آمدني āmdanī.

پاؤلي سٿنا pāʼo le saṭnā S̱. (dakh.) i. q. قاعدي سي قدم ڐالنا ḳāʼiﻌde se ḳadam ḍālnā, To step by rule.

پاؤن pāʼoṅ S̱. Same as پانو pāṅw, q. v. or the plur. inflection (for پانوون). پاؤن پرتيشه مارلينا pāʼoṅ par tesha mār lenā, Of oneʼs self to spoil oneʼs own affair. پاؤن دهول pāʼoṅ dhūl, Misfortune: see آسيب āseb. S. پاون पावन (r. पू Purify) pāwan, adj. Pure, holy, sacred, purifying.

پاولا pāʼolā S̱. (from پاو) s. m. A quarter of any coin (as, of a rupee, &c.).

پايمال pāʼe-māl S̱. adj. Trampled on; ruined.

پاينتا pāʼeṅtā S̱. (पादान्त) s. f. The foot of a bed, the side towards the feet.

پاٴي pāʼe H s. m. A peasant residing in one vil- lage and cultivating land belonging to another village.

پاٴي pāʼe P (Sans. पाद) s. m. The foot, the stand of a table, chair, &c. پاٴي بند pāʼe-band, 1. adj. Tied by the leg, fettered, captivated; (met.) encumbered with a family. 2. s. m. Fet- ters. پاٴي تخت pāʼe-taḵẖt, s. m. The royal residence or place of general residence of the royal family. پاٴي تراب pāʼe-turāb, s. m. The first stage of a journey.
