اشٿانگ अष्टांग अष्ट Eight, and अंग Mem- ber ash̤ṭāng S. Eight parts of man, viz. the hands, feet, thighs, breast, eyes, head, words and mind. اشٿانگ پرنام ash̤ṭāng-praṇām, s. m. Prostration, in salutation or adoration, so as to touch the ground with those eight parts.

ايمن eman H s. m. A musical mode.

اپریم a-prem S s. m. Enmity, hatred.

بهوکمپ भूकंप भू Earth, and r. कप Trem- ble bhūkamp S. s. m. An earthquake.

رايمني rāʼemanī H s. A kind of rice (in the husk).

سيم sem S (सिंबी) s. f. The flat bean.

نشيمن nisheman P s. Place of sitting, seat, re- sidence, nest.

نيم nem S̱. (or niyam for नियम) s. m. 1. Vow, compact, agreement. 2. Any religious ob- servance voluntarily practised; piety. نيم دهرم nem-dharm, s. m. Abstinence, good conduct. ¶ nīm (निंब) s. m. Name of a tree. (Melia azedirachta). Margosa tree: Herklots.

نيمي nem-ī नियमी S̱. adj. Conscientious, ab- stemious, continent, chaste.

هيم हेम hem S s. m. Gold. ¶ hīm (हिम) s. m. 1. Snow. 2. One of the six seasons. See هم him.

هيماچل हेमाचल hemāchal S s. m. Name of a mountain, called also सुमेरु sumeru.
