ادي उदय उद् and r. इ Go udai S. or udaya, s. m. The eastern mountain behind which the sun is supposed to rise. ادي هونا udai honā, To rise (the sun, moon, &c.).

برديت bardait H s. m. A panegyrist, a bard.

تدين tadaiyun A (inf. v. of ديانت) s. Religiousness, constancy in religion.

دي dai P The tenth month of the solar year, when the sun is in the sign Capricorn, Decem- ber, beginning of winter.

دي dai S̱. (in Braj) part. Given, about to give.

ديا daiyā H s. f. 1. A mother. 2. The stand that children run to in playing at hide and seek.

ديبي daibī S (दैवी) adv. By chance, acciden- tally: at length.

ديت daiyat S̱. or daitya (दैत्य) s. m. A demon, a Titan, a giant.

ديجور daijūr P (compound of داج Darkness, and particle ور) s. m. 1. The night of conjunction of sun and moon. 2. A dark night without moon- light. 3. Every thing black. 4. adj. Dark. (Adopted in Arab. plur. دياجير).

دير dair P s. m. A temple where idols are wor- shipped.

ديسا daisā H adj. (dakh.) Like.

دين dain A s. m. Debt. دين دار dain-dār, s. m. A debtor.

ديوث daiyūs̤ A s. m. A contented cuckold, or one who winks at the fornication of his wife or female relations from interested motives.
