افسانه afsāna P s. m. A fiction, tale, story, ro- mance. افسانه خوان afsāna-ḵẖẉān, or افسانه گو afsāna-go, A story-teller, romance-teller.

افسر afsar P s. m. f. A crown, a diadem.

افسرده afsurda P adj. Frozen, withered, faded, benummed; dejected, dispirited, lowspirited, melancholy. افسرده خاطر afsurdā-ḵẖāt̤ir, De- pressed in mind, dispirited. افسرده دل afsurda- dil, Faint-hearted, lowspirited, dejected.

افسردگي afsurda-gī P s. f. Dejection, melancholy, lowness or depression of spirits.

افسوس afsos P s. m. Sorrow, concern, regret, vexation. ¶ interj. Ah! alas! افسوس کرنا afsos karnā, To sigh, to sorrow, to regret, grieve, la- ment, bewail, bemoan, mourn, moan.

افسون afsūn P s. m. Incantation, a spell, verses used in spells or enchantment, fascination, sor- cery. افسون سازي afsūn-sāz-ī, s. f. Enchant- ment. افسون کرنا afsūn karnā, To enchant, to use spells or incantations.

افسون گر afsūn-gar P s. m. An enchanter, one who uses spells, &c., a sorcerer, magician.
