قبله ḳibla A s. m. 1. Any thing opposite. 2. That part to which people turn their face when at prayer; (hence, the word means) Mecca, an altar, temple; (and, by way of respectful address) Worship! Father! &c. قبلهٴحاجات ḳibla-i-ḥājāt, What is looked to for the attain- ment of necessities or desires. قبلهٴعالم ḳibla-e-āﻌlam, The ḳibla of the world, his Majesty, your Majesty! قبله کونين ḳibla-e-kaunain, The ḳibla of both worlds, applied to a father. قبله گاه ḳibla-gāh, The place turned to when at prayer, generally means a father or one beloved. قبله نما ḳibla-numā (lit. shewing the ḳibla or di- rection of Mecca) A marinerʼs compass, an in- strument to ascertain the direction of Mecca.

قبه ḳubba A (from قبّ) s. m. A vault, an arch, a dome, a cupola; (hence) alcove.

قبور ḳubūr A s. plur. (of قبر) Tombs.

قبول ḳabūl A or ḳubūl (from قبل) 1. s. m. Con- sent, favourable reception, concession, approba- tion, assent. 2. adj. Accepted, approved, consented, agreed. قبول صورت ḳabūl-ṣūrat, Handsome. قبول صورتي ḳabūl-ṣūrat-ī, s. f. Handsomeness. قبول کرنا ḳabūl karnā, To accept, receive, take, assent, allow, confess, consent, deign, agree to, own, promise. قبول هونا ḳabūl honā, To be accepted, agreed to, &c. A. H. قبولنا ḳabūl-nā, v. a. To agree, consent, as- sent, accept, approve, make choice of.

قبولي ḳabūl-ī A. s. f. A kind of food, rice and pulse boiled together.

قبوليت ḳabūliyat A s. f. A written agreement, acceptance, assent, consent.

قبيح ḳabīḥ A (from قبح) adj. Vile, detestable, de- formed, bad, ugly, shameful, disgraceful.

قبيل ḳabīl A (from قبل) s. m. 1. Species, kind, sort. 2. Family, tribe, kindred, progeny.

قبيله ḳabīla A s. m. 1. A family, a tribe. 2. A wife.

مراقبه murāḳaba A (inf. III. of رقب) s. m. 1. Observation, contemplation. 2. Fearing God.

مستقبل mustaḳbil A (part. act. X. of قبل Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. Future, the future tense.
