اصلا aṣlā A or aṣlaṉ, adv. In the least, at all, by no means, never, not at all. اصلامطلقا aṣlaṉ mut̤laḳaṉ, Never absolutely, by no means.

اصلاح iṣlāḥ A (inf. iv. of ضلح Heb. and Ch. Prospered, was fit) s. f. Correction, amend- ment, emendation. اصلاح کرنا iṣlāḥ karnā, To correct, to amend.

اصلح aṣlah A adj. compar. (of صالح) Best, most correct, most advisable.

خصلت ḵẖaṣlat A s. f. 1. Habit, custom. 2. Quality, property, mode, talent, virtue, disposi- tion, nature. (Plur. خصال or خصايل).

صلا ṣilā A s. m. For صله ṣila, q. v. ¶ ṣalā, s. f. Annunciation, invitation, voice, proclamation.

صلابت ṣalābat A (from صلب) s. f. Firmness, hardness, severity, majesty, dignity.

صلات ṣalāt A (from صلا Ch. and To pray) s. f. 1. Prayer, benediction. 2. The first chap- ter of the ḳurʼān.

صلاح ṣalāḥ A (from صلح Heb. To prosper) 1. s. f. Peace, concord, treaty. 2. Rectitude, in- tegrity, goodness of state or condition, prosperity. 3. Advice, counsel. 4. adj. Advisable. صلاح کرني ṣalāḥ karnī, To consult, advise, to take counsel together.

صلاحيت ṣalāḥiyat A (from صلح) s. f. Virtue, chastity, integrity, goodness, probity, sanctity.

صلب ṣalb A s. f. 1. (Ch. ) Crucifixion. 2. Burning. 3. Teasing, fretting, vexing. ¶ ṣulb, The loins; (met.) offspring.

صلح ṣulḥ A s. f. Peace, reconciliation, treaty, truce, concord. صلح کل ṣulḥ-i-kull, s. f. Per- fect reconciliation, definitive treaty.

صلحا ṣulaḥā A s. plur. (of صالح) Pious, upright men.

صلحه ṣulḥa A s. m. Friendship.

صلعم ṣalaﻌm A A mysterious word (added often to the name of Maḥammad) formed from the ab- breviation of the following words, صلي الله عليه وسلم ṣallạ-l-lāh aﻌlaihi wa sallam, The blessing and peace of God be with him.

مصلا muṣallā A (part. pass. II. from صلي Chald. ) s. m. A carpet to pray on, a place of prayer.
